A good example of this is Becca Gerdon. Our programming at the gym runs in a 4 week wave. First week is normal volume and intensity. Second week is REALLY high volume and intensity. Third week, the volume drops but the intensity stays high. Fourth week is a deload, with maxing on fridays. If a guy’s going to PR, he usually does it on Friday of the 4th week when he’s had a chance to supercompensate. Becca hit most of her PRs on the second and third week, and the 4th and 1st were barely even blips on her radar because the volume that was somewhat challenging for guys was stupidly easy for her. Now that she’s at Muscle Driver with substantially higher volume, she’s been PRing almost every heavy session.
